My name is Dimitris Messis and I am 11 years old. My country is Greece and it is in Balkan Peninsula. My homeland shares borders with Albania, Fyrom, Bulgaria from the North, Turkey from the Northeast and on the West, South and East it is bordering the Mediterranean Sea.

Greece is mountainous and it has got small plains among the mountains, and it also has many rivers and very beautiful valleys. But above all my country is very famous for its islands and beaches, which everybody can visit and enjoy in our hot Greek summer.

In winter the temperature sometimes drops below zero, it often snows especially on the mountains. However in autumn and spring the weather is mild, so we spend much more time outdoors.

People in Greece are very friendly and hospitable, although they get easily angry and they make noise.

I think that my homeland is a very beautiful place to live.
